Boat Race in Moon —- in few years???

Why not a boat race to be conducted in moon soon.??? But its not going to be possible . Actually the discovery of water in moon is of no use as their is no atmosphere in moon.

NASA on Thursday thanked ISRO for enabling the discovery of water on Moon through Chandrayaan-I, a finding that could trigger a serious hunt for life in outer space.
India’s first lunar mission had made a “path-breaking and real discovery” by establishing the presence of water on the moon, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman Nair said.
Moon Mineralogy Mapper, a NASA instrument onboard Chandrayaan-I, detected wavelengths of reflected light that would indicate a chemical bond between hydrogen and oxygen in materials on the thin layer of upper soil. The Moon Mineralogy Mapper or M3 has confirmed existence of water on moon by analysing the data collected from Chandrayaan-I.
Actually this is a a great step in the space research. But its never possible to create a holiday station in moon for humans (as the media people says) as the water content alone cannot support life. The conditions in moon are much different from earth.

However, water detected on the lunar surface was not in the form of liquid, ice or moisture. Strangely enough, it was in molecular form and only in trace amounts, that too on the uppermost layer.

But it was abundant and found everywhere. Almost a litre of water can be squeezed out of every 1,000 kg of lunar soil, according to the data provided by Chandrayaan-1.

The discovery of water on moon by Chandrayaan-I has prompted our ISRO scientists to rethink on the experiments to be carried by its sequel mission scheduled for 2012.
ISRO plans two rovers on the lunar surface as a part of Chandrayaan-II other than several in-orbit experiments. The lunar rover which will land on the moon will be from Russia.
